It's great to be back! Here's a demonstration of how to capture the essence of light over a stormy seascape using watercolours. I'm using a simple approach with bold strokes and a spray bottle to create a realistic sky scene. Remember the 3 things you need to think about when capturing the essence of light. 1. Leave some white of the page. 2. Good tonal values (dark darks and light lights) 3. Have some soft edges and some hard edges that take the eye. I hope you enjoy this watercolour tutorial! Sheets most of the time are the cheapest way to go. I can get Hahnemuhle sheets (53cm x 78cm) for $11.50 Australian from my local art store when buying them one at a time. This gives me 16 sheets of A5 which is much cheaper than buying a pad. If you can afford to buy 50 sheets at a time that can save you a lot of money!
