Please turn on CC in the video settings for subtitles! I went on a business trip to Ishigaki Island at the time of the new moon in early June. On the first day, we arrived in the morning, so we walked around downtown until we checked in and looked for souvenirs. On the second day, we were taken on a tour of Ishigaki Island, and in the afternoon we visited the Yaeyama Chlorella factory. On the third day, we also visited the Ishigaki Salt Workshop in the afternoon. We were shown the history of salt in the Yaeyama Islands, and we were given a tour of places that are usually off-limits. At the workshop we were taught how to use salt in different ways. Report from the shop In order to make a fresh start, we have decided to change the name of our store from "Shoukakukou Shouten" to "Shoukakukou Shouten". The name will remain the same as before, Shoukakukou Shouten. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of this change. As a Japanese couple, we have carefully selected only those products that we have used in our daily lives and felt happy with, and we have run this store in the hope that people overseas will try them as well. However, as we continued to run the store, we had more and more opportunities to meet with the producers directly, and we wanted to share more with people overseas about the difficulties of continuing to pass down wonderful products from generation to generation, the policy of continuing to make products that can be used for a lifetime even in the era of mass production and mass consumption, and the thoughts of Japanese craftsmen who continue to protect traditional production methods that are disappearing amidst the emphasis on efficiency and mechanized production, and who continue to make each product carefully by hand. In order to offer wonderful products that have universal value, are good for the body, and will continue to be loved in any era, even in this rapidly changing age, we have decided to change the name of our store to "Shoukakukoushoten" and make a fresh start with the desire to grow even further ourselves. The word "Kakukou" means "just right" or "perfectly fitting" in Chinese. At our store, we aim to offer a unique selection of products that can only be found here, so that each and every customer can find the perfect product for them. While maintaining our desire to provide small, genuine happiness, we will continue to grow as a store that can be there for more people in more situations. We will continue to make small improvements to the site, but the transition will be complete on July 1st. The name of the store will change, but our desire to bring happiness to everyone will not.
