I was fortunate enough to live through an era of Hardcore in the 2020s that saw the resurgence of the 90s Hardcore/Metalcore sound. Long Island was in full participation with bands like Annulment, Sanction, and Jukai showcasing their own unique approach to that style of Hardcore, as well as bringing in touring acts who complimented gigs that saw those bands preform (Blistered, Renounced, etc). Jukai quickly became one of my favorites with their dark, heavy approach to the genre. I was on tour selling merch for my friends' band when they were due to have their farewell show at Revolution Music Hall, so I went back to New York mid tour to catch that show, and rejoined the tour the next day (it was a big fat shlep but well worth it). A few years after that, LIHC began a new era with a rise in straight up Beatdown bands gaining traction as well as Emotional Hardcore/Emo bands making gains in the community. Following the closing of Jukai's chapter in the ongoing story of LIHC, two new bands came from the ashes, and decided to repurpose the Jukai Instagram to represent these new projects. One being the The Fight featuring guitarist Kyle Fee on vocals and promoter extraordinaire, John Scanlon on Bass. The other being the illustrious Rule Them All, a band inspired by the Emotional Hardcore of The Revolution Summer bands from 80s DC, featuring Jukai vocalist Zach Barnett on guitar (also there's a possibility they got their name from The Fellowship of the Ring, which is cool as fuck). Besides Zach's impressive musical resume and well admired reputation as a stand up Long Island man, he's also a hell of a father and husband by all accounts. Here, I've finally captured and uploaded the latter of the two, with definitive plans to see The Fight make their debut to this channel. Rule Them All does real justice to the Rev Summer style of Emotional Hardcore but with their own LIHC approach. Easily one of the best Long Island bands going right now.
