If you ask me, ear-training is the number one most valuable topic a bass player can devote time to working on. Good ears allow you learn songs by ear, improvise, and play with a band confidently and accurately. Without good ears, you're dead in the water in most professional bass situations. That's why I created this multi-video lesson series. In this 3rd lesson, we'll move beyond singing scales and get into singing randomly generated chord progressions using the 4 most essential chords in western music. First, I'll walk you through 2 examples using sample progressions, then I'll give you 10 progressions to practice for the next weeks, as well as tips on how to create or find more.
