Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 0:32 1st half 5:15 2nd half 2017-2018 Season: Year 9 [6th season w/American | 3 seasons w/Air Force] Overall: (23-5) C-USA: (11-3) Home: (12-1) Away: (9-3) Neutral: (2-1) [Old Spice Classic] In the last video, we had an intense game with Memphis that lived up to the expectations I had before the season even started, it was a game I had circled and knew it would be a competitive game. It wasn’t the most efficient scoring game by both teams, and my team was a bit too amped up and was a part of the reason we didn’t shoot well early in the game, but we found our stride in the 2nd half where we eventually went on a scoring run that gave us a 10 point lead. However, we have been prone to going on scoring droughts even with a lead throughout the season, and Memphis ended up making a push to try an pull off a comeback win, but we stayed poised on the defensive end and we didn’t let our cold shooting late in the game affect our confidence, as we have been in similar scenarios this season. We eventually came up with a (64-58) win on the road at Memphis giving them their first loss in conference play. This game was just another great example of what my team is designed to do and displayed our collective effort as a team winning this game. After the big win against Memphis, we came back home for a game against UCF and we took care of business getting the W against a middle of the pack C-USA team, winning (87-58). We made sure to win in dominant fashion early so we could give one of our reserve players, Tyson Wallace, his senior night game a game early because we were playing a weaker opponent. Wallace got to play the last 5 minutes of that game and we made sure to give him the ball as much as possible, he ended up scoring 12 points in that game. Wallace (a 2 star recruit) got over recruited at the SF position during his career at American and barely played for us, and since I am playing all the games this season, I let him play his last game. Now we get our rematch against UTEP in our last home game of the season, which means it’s officially senior night for our veteran starting guard Tim Ivy. Ivy is currently a 3 year starter for this team and has played a big part in many games being one our main scorers on this team the past few seasons. I’m gonna make sure Ivy scores as much as he can in this game to finish off his last home game for American. We’re also on a bit of a revenge tour against the teams we lost to in conference and that is just added motivation for our team to win this game against UTEP.
