Craig Koomeeta’s two works titled ‘Wuungkun (Barramundi in Apelech design)’ represent a story about two brothers. A rainstorm came while they were out hunting, and they tried to shelter under a large tree but there was no way to escape the water. The boys soon realised that the tree was an old story place in a dried swamp, but here they were, surrounded by water. As it rose above their heads, the brothers turned into barramundi. They can still be seen swimming around the swamp today. Dingo 2002 Carved milkwood with synthetic polymer paint 41.5 x 62.5 x 15cm Purchased 2002.
