The artist Arvid Mauritz Lindstrom was born in 1849 in Björksta, Västmanland (Sweden). He graduated from the Royal Academy of Painting in Stockholm in 1872. Subsequently, he continued his studies in Munich and Paris. In 1886 he became a member of the Association of Arts, and in 1890 he joined the Association of Swedish Artists. Realistic landscape painting has always been, is, and will be very close and understandable to the average viewer. And the magnificent gallery of atmospheric landscapes by the Swedish classical painter Arvid Mauritz Lindstrom is proof of this. Viewing these paintings is simply breathtaking. The incredible beauty of the landscapes is captivating. At first, it may seem that we are looking at paintings by Russian classical artists. Indeed, we see landscapes of the Russian North, meadows and forests of our native plains, with our light sadness, poetic mood and restrained palette of colors. But these paintings were painted by a Swedish artist. Even after a whole century, the snow-covered expanses, the powerful centuries-old pines, and the delicate birches illuminated by the rays of the low northern sun, which the Swedish artist depicted with such trepidation in the style of classical realism combined with poignant lyrical painting, still touch the delicate strings of the viewer's soul.
