Performance Samples Vista AudioBro Modern Scoring Strings Spitfire Symphonic Strings Cinematic Studio Strings Musical Sampling Soaring Strings Some of you may be interested in a different way of going about listening to and evaluating sampled instruments. That's fine! In this video the mod wheel will not be moving. That is because I am not listening for "interpretations of the legato scripting". I am listening for the legato transitions as scripted / recorded / programmed. Consider: if the mod wheel or expression controller always MUST be moved quieter for a legato transition, are the transitions always or usually too loud? (Or vice versa of course; quieter/ louder.) Now, if you want to make them louder or quieter occasionally for expressive purposes, to emphasize certain transitions and de-emphasize other transitions, I say great! Another reason to move the mod wheel during a legato transition is to correct for a scripting "mistake" or inconsistency. Also totally acceptable. But from a software perspective, I evaluate packages based on how they sound without moving the mod wheel during legato transitions (as one exercise). Because that indicates to me how the transitions were scripted in the first place. This video is more about that evaluation. This video is neither an attempt to make gorgeous music, nor a tutorial for how to use these instruments.
