I still feel like there is a place for the BMPCC6K, and BMPCC6K Pro cameras for those who are looking for a more 'cinema' centric camera, but after trying out the BMPCC6K Pro and comparing it to my Lumix S5 (of which can now also shoot BMRAW), I've kinda come to the conclusion that there's more downsides than upsides to the Black Magic offering. The BMPCC6K Pro has some awesome features of course, like internal ND's, extended I.O compared to the Lumix S5 and a generally more refined interface for video shooters, but the size, ergonomics and sheer goofiness of this camera makes it really hard for me to see myself using it as an asset for my business. The Lumix S5, just like the other Full Frame Panasonic bodies can now output BMRAW via HDMI, so if you were looking to use that BMRAW codec then both cameras will serve you just fine. The plus side to the S5 however is the bigger sensor and the more 'user friendly' ergonomics and build quality. You can easily rig up the Panasonic S5 with monitors, cages and put it on pretty much any gimbal with ease, but you can't do that with the BMPCC6K/6K Pro without some tinkering and mcGuivering. If you're unsure about what your next video camera should be, then this video should help you quite a lot, but if you already know that the BMPCC6K Pro has features that you would die without then your mind is already made up, so this video is more so for those who have been on the fence. The L-Mount system generally is becoming more and more diverse in terms of its lens offerings and price point, but of course, the EF mount is still one of the most universal and cheapest mount options out there.
