This video shows the 4th week of our little chicks lives. By the end of the 4th week they are little chickens for sure. They walk the walk, strut, and are starting to look like mini chickens. They are doing fantastic and as their birthday gift, we let them stay in the coop on the last day of the 4th week. Kinda early but they seemed to big for the tote and couldn't wait to get into the run. We started the run at 2 weeks old so their progression into the coop was pretty easy. They started growing crowns (the Rocks mostly), and our Green Queen Egger (the largest bird) is looking very pretty. Their peaking is now very strong and we introduced meal worms as well. They love em. The now get crumbles, grass (not sure what type), and meal worms (once a day), and as many crickets and grasshoppers as we can find. They seem very healthy and are very lively. We have also tried to pick them up and touch them a lot so that they are friendly and not scared of humans. They still don't like to be catch though which I am sure never changes. We are enjoying them a lot. They are friendly and hop on us all the time. Some are shy but we can still handle them and pet them. So far so good. We'll be making videos in longer spans (monthly) for progress reports or when something dramatic happens. I will be switching them to main feed in a few weeks making our own mix. More on that later. Cheers.
