JUSTICE SERVED: BELONIA MAN SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS FOR CHILD ASSAULT In Belonia, Tripura , a man named Prasenjit Muhuri, 22 years old, was sent to jail for 20 years and fined ₹10,000 after he was found guilty of raping 11-year-old minor girl.The incident took place on September 14, 2024 when the 11-year-old minor girl was returning home from Ramnagar school . Prasenjit Muhuri who is a resident of the same village and a driver by profession picked up the minor girl in his car on the pretext of taking her home then drove her to various places and took her to a secluded rubber plantation and forcibly raped her while threatening to kill her. The minor girl's mother filed a written case at the Belonia Women's Police Station demanding strict punishment for the accused. After listening to the witnesses the special judge of the Belonia District and Sessions Court found the accused rapist Prasenjit Muhuri guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment under the POCSO Act and fined him rupees 10,000. .
