Filmed in September 2019. GPX: / strava Photo album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ACZSmBsEiLL... Bike A'Round Facebook Home Page: / bikearound2017 My games page: https://srdjancanicgames.wordpress.com Short stories: http://srdjancanicbooks.blogspot.rs/ Copyright © Srđan Canić. All rights reserved. A 2-hour marathon of the Kamenjak peninsula and the Premantura village! And of course, I had to cut it short so you can only enjoy the west coast and... the middle. But still, such a great place. Kamenjak is basically the southernmost tip of Istria, the largest peninsula in Croatia and the Adriatic sea while Premantura is the only... settlement there. It's all easily approachable from Pula but it's probably not the best idea to take your time and explore the rest of the coast first because... I did mention having to cut the ride short, right? The peninsula is also a Nature park and you can find many historical... bits and pieces. The most notable landmark is perhaps the Dinosaur path but as you'll see I found it to be quite disappointing (during my visit, in 2019). But the area is probably best known for it's nature, rugged coast, crystal-clear water and a bunch of brilliant, unpaved paths. Some are also used as roads (there's a fee to drive a car but too many people still do it) but many are pedestrians&cyclists only. Btw, when I say "cyclists" I mean mountain bikers and such and you'll see why. Kamenjak is definitely best seen and explored on a bike but hiking could be even more fun, if you have the time and are fit enough as the coast is LONG. However you visit, be sure to bring enough water (and food) as these are not... readily available (rugged nature, remember?) and luckily, there aren't many bars/cafes, either. Speaking of which, do visit Safari Bar which is truly remarkable. The one thing you'll surely miss here (just like in Rovinj) is a vantage point as there pretty much isn't one. Still, with the mix of open (barren) space, forests, rocky and smooth trails, incredible coastline, occasionally untouched nature and beaches you surely won't regret visiting, not at all.
