RAF SKENDELBY GCHQ COLD WAR NUCLEAR BUNKER (By Air)

RAF Skendelby Cold War nuclear bunker. Started life as a two floor bunker for the chain home low radar in 1941 and became one of the U.K. top secret government bunker housing government officials in the Cold War era. With room for 130 personnel this gigantic underground complex served lincolnshire as a regional GCHQ. Finally closed in 1995 from service. My video from above shows you the 4 air breathing ducts. The remains of the comms and bungalow which is the entrance into the bunker. The guardroom is in the bungalow along with decontamination. There’s a long slope down from the guardroom into the bunker. Sealed with huge steel air tight doors. In its later years it was converted by the home office to 3 floors. Their are next to no photos of inside this bunker. No tales or stories online exist. No videos. For someone like me it would be a dream to visit this place and explore the underground. I shall keep on dreaming.
