CRL Rights Commission-Forsa dispute deepens

The ongoing dispute between the CRL Rights Commission and a faith-based lobby group dubbed Freedom of Religion South Africa (Forsa) is deepening and is likely headed to the courts. Last week, the CRL Rights Commission's Chairperson Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva and activist Cheryl Zondi, a witness in the Nigerian televangelist Timothy Omotoso rape case, opened a criminal case against the director of Forsa, Michael Swain, accusing him of spreading misinformation about the commission and its work. Swain, in response, has rejected what he calls false, defamatory and fixation accusations made by Mkhwanazi-Xaluva and is disappointed that she didn't approach him first for clarity.
