TOCOL is the name of the function. array_or_range is one or more columns of values. ignore is optional and its value either ignores or keeps blanks and errors. Values of ignore are: 0, the default value, keeps blanks and errors; 1 ignores only blanks; 2 ignores only errors, and 3 ignores blanks and errors. scan_by_column is optional and its value scans the array by column or row. Values of scan_by_column are: FALSE. It is the default value and scans the array by row; TRUE. It scans the array by column. Examples Example 1 Say cells A2, B2, A3, B3, A4, B4 each have the values Section A, Section B, Section C, 30, 38, 34 respectively. The TOCOL function formula =TOCOL(A2:B4) will return a single column of values as Section A 30 Section B 38 Section C 34 Example 2 Consider the same data as in the above example. Assume that the value in cell B3 is blank and not 38 as in the above example. The TOCOL function formula =TOCOL(A2:B4,1) with the value of 1, for ignore argument, ignores the blank cell, B3, and returns a single column of values as: Section A 30 Section B Section C 34 Example 3 Consider the same data as in Example 1 again.
