Harare is the Capital City of Zimbabwe and is also the largest city in Zimbabwe with a population of about 2 million people. The Jacaranda trees have become an iconic symbol of the city. The city covers an area of about 981 km2 and is located in the northeastern part of the country in the Mashonaland region. The City which rests on a plateau is elevated at 1,483 meters above sea level and has a subtropical highland climate.
