Aguado Etude Classical Guitar Lesson

This Etude composed by Dionisio Aguado, is very user friendly for beginning students and those new to the classical guitar. For starters the chords only require 2-3 fingers and friendly for students who have just started playing guitar. They also give beginning students focused opportunities to begin switching between chords as well. The right hand patterns are almost identical to one another and provide the perfect opportunity for students to immerse themselves into classical guitar. In this video I will provide viewers with my performance of this study and then break down the specific tasks and learning steps that will help viewers consolidate their efforts towards performing this piece for themselves. We will first spend time on the classical right-hand patterns that are pretty much identical except they start on different strings. We will move onto learning how to play the chords and switch between them. Finally, we will learn the implied melody in this study and I will present the challenge of trying to lift it above the chord accompaniment. I’ve put together PDF files that accompany this video which you may download at friendly-frets.com/resources.
