In this video we discuss how to apply a border or borders to a cell or cells in excel. We go through a single cell example and then go through applying surrounding borders to multiple cells Transcript/notes Let’s say that you want to apply borders to cells in excel. To do this, make sure you are on the home tab at the top of the worksheet, then, left click on the cell you want to apply a border to, in this example, cell B4, so it is highlighted. Next, in the font section, near the top of the worksheet, left click on the down arrow next to the borders icon, as you see here. And a drop down box will appear, showing all of the border options. I’m going to left click on the first option, bottom border, and then I will left click off of the cell, and you see we have a bottom border. I’m going to hit control Z to undo this. One more example, if we want to border this whole little chart, left click and hold on the first cell, cell B4, and drag to the last cell, cell D9, then release the click and hold, so all of the cells are highlighted. From here, same process, left click on down arrow, and in the drop down, left click on all borders. And now our chart is fully bordered.
