Trump overturns Biden era ban, approves major mining operation in Alaska's Ambler District

President Donald Trump reversed a Biden-era decision on a major mining operation in Alaska that will unleash critical minerals and an economic gold mine. Trump recently approved the appeal of the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA), directing his administration to issue authorizations necessary for the establishment of the Ambler Road Project, which will provide road transportation access to the Ambler Mining District. “This is not just a figurative, but a literal gold mine,” said Doug Burgum, who is the chairman of the National Energy Dominance Council and Interior Secretary. “There’s gold. There’s silver. There’s cobalt. There’s lead. There’s copper. This is one of the richest copper concentrations in the entire world.
