Raw test footage from a Sony NEX-VG30 interchangeable lens handycam. The footage was shot in full HD (1920x1080/50p) in a variety of light conditions while using manual and automatic adjustments. Two different E-mount lenses were used, the 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 telephoto lens (SEL-P18200), and the E50mm F1.8 portrait lens (SEL-50F18). Optical SteadyShot is switched off hence it's a bit shaky. It's experimental footage and therefore does not show off the camera's full potential, but still might be of interest if considering purchasing. The camcorder is equipped with an APS-C-sized (23.5mm x 15.6mm) CMOS image sensor. Its sensor area is about 20 times as large as the 1/3-inch image sensor that is often used in existing video cameras. The larger the image sensor, the shallower the depth of field. This allows you to reduce the focus on the background in order to make the subject stand out. Music is "Watching Seabirds Soar (Harmony)" by DoKashiteru (ccmixter.org)
