Brief about Runa Sengupta: Runa Sengupta brings over two decades of strategic HR leadership across Indian and global enterprises, spanning manufacturing, healthcare, telecom and technology. Since April 2023, she has served as Head – Human Resources at Weir Minerals India Pvt. Ltd., leading end-to-end people strategy for a 500+ workforce as part of the India Leadership Team. Her remit includes organisational development, strategic talent and succession planning (STPP, TDSP), engagement, compliance, compensation and capability building, while partnering closely with APAC and global HR teams. Known for building high-trust, high-performance cultures across white- and blue-collar populations, she has driven OD interventions and engagement programmes that positioned organisations as Great Places to Work. Previously, Runa led HR at Essilor India – Essilor Brands, shaping agile, compliant and scalable people practices across employee relations, talent, change management and DEI. As Global HR Manager at TT Services (HB Group), she oversaw HR across 11 countries, leading globally aligned policies, compensation frameworks, HR audits and M&A readiness. At Biocon, she strengthened onboarding, engagement and retention, reducing early attrition through structured R&R and feedback systems. Her earlier roles at Schaeffler (LuK India), JT International, Reliance Communications, Airtel and Datacore built her strong foundation in training, workforce operations and talent acquisition. Recognised among India’s Top HR Minds and as Woman HR Leader of the Year (2023), Runa brings board-level acumen in governance, labour laws, ESG, workforce transformation and ethical leadership—positioning HR as a strategic enabler of sustainable value creation.
