Berlin is full of places that shaped techno history – many of them long gone. We spent a full day walking through the city with Mark Reeder, visiting legendary locations like the former Tresor Garden on Leipziger Straße, as well as still-active cultural landmarks such as SO36. Mark Reeder is more than a witness to Berlin’s underground history — he helped shape it. He is the founder of the first pure trance music record label, MFS Records, co-founded with DJ legend Paul van Dyk, as well as a filmmaker and director of the cult documentary “B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin 1979–1989” (released in 2015 and celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025). Mark Reeder is also a key connector between punk, new wave, techno, and rave culture. Mark has been a supporter of Rave The Planet from day one and was also part of our Float Committee, helping select the participating floats for the Rave The Planet Parade. In this interview, he shares personal stories, forgotten moments and raw memories from a Berlin that was loud, free and fearless. 🎙️ Interview: Kay Barton 🎬 Camera 1 & Edit: Nora Lübchen 🎥 Camera 2: Sebastian Petrungaro 📸 Behind the Scenes: Tomasz Guiddo Huge gratitude to everyone involved – and especially to Mark Reeder. ❤️🎶 Techno is culture.
