I Visit The Holiest Place of Pakistan (Faisal Masjid) 🇵🇰

In this video I explore Islamabad with my friend Mehran and try to chew local hashish. In Shakarparian Park we meet a Chinese friend, then go to see the Petal monument where Jinnah Mohamed is represented, founder of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. We visited Faisal Masjid, the world’s 5th biggest mosque and the national mosque of Pakistan. Clearly a beautiful experience as we arrived at the time of the Muezzin chant. Interestingly enough, some men walk hands to hands as they’re very close friends. In the Western world this has another meaning. I love observing cultural differences. Other big cultural difference: alcohol is illegal in Pakistan. You can’t find in any shop as it’s “haram” (against Islam). On the other hand, hashish is illegal but it’s part of the culture so people use it. Pakistani chew hashish, including police officers, thus I decided to give it a try. I chewed hashish for the first time with Mehran at Daman-e-Koh, a viewpoint surrounding Islamabad giving an outstanding view. Watching the sunset next to monkeys, beautiful experience. Mehran tried to guess where a Pakistani is from but failed (Punjab? Gilgit-Baltistan? Balochistan?). Well, I didn’t have effects with the hashish… We ended up in a local restaurant having of course chai, paratha and good Pakistani food.
