This Doppelmayr quad replaced a Mueller double in 1987. It follows a different alignment ending at the top of the Can Am trail which is shorter but steeper than it's predecessor. It is the main route from Stateside to Tramside though all lifts provide access to both base areas. It serves a large amount of terrain on a south eastern aspect for lapping too. The length is 4650 feet, vertical is 1370 feet, capacity is 1915/hr and design speed 490 feet per minute. It's faster than most fixed grip quads, but due to ANSI standards would not go over 450 feet per minute. I suspect this lift's days are numbered. It was already scheduled to be replaced by a high speed 6 pack in 2012, but due to financial shortfalls it was postponed. When Jay Peak is eventually sold out of the current receivership, I expect the new owner to rapidly schedule the lift for replacement. Stateside is possibly the largest base area in the Northeast not served by a detachable lift. It also experiences frequent slow downs and stops as you can see during the video. I hope the replacement lift is a bubble-6 as it would take a lot of people off the tram who are just riding it to be on an enclosed lift.
