Why Digital Discipleship?

Video Games, Anime, & Pop Culture — these things that were once mocked & vilified as a subculture. Have now become THE CULTURE. From Tetris to Tekken, from comic books to the MCU, Streetfighter to Fortnite, Nerd culture has become a multi-billion-dollar industry connecting millions of youth across the globe. Unfortunately, the Church has been on the bench. 2020 impacted youth incredibly hard. Loneliness & anxiety skyrocketed across the nation. Youth workers could not physically meet with their kids, and the Church needed a way to interact with kids effectively and safely. So Love Thy Nerd, Satellite Gaming, & UYWI united forces to create Developing Digital Disciples, a resource that walks you from, “I have never played” to running tournaments! It equips the Church and its leaders with the tools to enter the digital mission field and empower their youth to be digital disciples.
