Sky News host James Morrow has criticised New York City budget director Sherif Soliman for using Ramadan as an “excuse” to avoid questions over a $5.4 billion deficit. “The budget director of New York City is also of the Islamic faith, and he was supposed to be explaining away a $5.4 billion budget deficit,” Mr Morrow said. “But, listen to this: it turns out the budget director, Sherif Soliman, is, himself, using Ramadan as an excuse to avoid answering questions about the city’s dire finances.”
