This video aims to exalt the expressive attitude of the Dulcian and its affinity to the human voice. Owner characteristics of this instrument are able to perform in a way of cantabile, softer and elegant sound emission bring out these timbre qualities. This aesthetic searching is focused by Quoniam: Italian consort of Dulcians . Giovanni Sansoni, virtuoso bassoonist who was part of the Capella Ducale at the time of Monteverdi, reveals his knowledge of the voices in this rare motet originally composed for two altos.
