Steve and Dema Crockett own and manage Point aux Pins Oysters, the first successful commercial oyster farm on the Gulf Coast. Oysters are a remarkable indicator species, as well as providing multiple conservation benefits to the coasts where they are grown. And since Alabama has historically been the #1 processor of oysters in the Gulf Coast region, they are also part of our state history and an important part of our economy and our communities.
