Pharaoh to Bactrian is an advanced ski run located at Camelback Mountain Resort. The trails run from the top of the Stevenson Express chairlift, down to the bottom of the lift near the Camelback Lodge Hotel. The run starts on Pharaoh, which begins to the slight skier's left of the top of the chairlift. Pharaoh, while marked as a terrain park on the trail map, did not have any features the day I visited. The trail makes a few sharp curves back and forth and features two decent pitches. After the final turn into a steep section, the run flattens and turns into Bactrian. This half of the terrain park was set up and the trail gently winds its way down the bottom half of the mountain before reaching the bottom of the chairlift. Camelback Mountain Resort is a ski area located in Tannersville, Pennsylvania. The resort is located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains in Northeastern Pennsylvania in Monroe County, about 10 miles west of Stroudsburg and the New Jersey border. The resort is known for its family-friendly terrain and wide footprint for such a resort of its height. The resort has a nice variety of groomers for all ability levels as well as a good learning program. The mountain is quite the popular ski area, mainly due to being located just a 1.5-hour drive west of New York City and a 1.5-hour drive north of Philadelphia, and its convenient location right off of Interstate 80. The ski area is also just a short drive from other cities in Pennsylvania such as those in the Wyoming and Lehigh valleys such as Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Allentown, and Bethlehem, as well as a convenient drive from other cities such as Harrisburg and Reading in Pennsylvania, Newark, New Jersey, and Binghamton, New York. The resort is also a popular destination for non-skiers year-round as the resort also features America's largest tubing park in the winter, a year-round indoor waterpark, as well as an outside waterpark, a mountain coaster, an alpine slide, a zipline, and many other activities in the summer.
