Jimmy Savile O.B.E. looks at the weekly pop chart from 22nd December 1977 and introduces Chic, Osibisa, Crystal Gayle, Scott Fitzgerald & Yvonne Keeley, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, Yannis Markopoulos, Godley & Creme, Ruby Winters, Hot Chocolate, Gordon Gilstrap, Bing Crosby, Bonnie Tyler, Wings, The Muppets and a Legs & Co dance sequence. The final Savile offering of 1977, and another treat weeks in advance (well not really, cos you will not get to see it - fume) and it's another cracker of a routine from the company that is all Legs. Stellar routine and a nice way to round out the year (here in 2012 sad way to round out the year - no JS episodes in 1978 either) The girls in bright skirts, matching berets (that look like sink plungers or the cut off ends of Daleks) and leopard print tops, dance to a literal interpretation to Donna Summer's hit 'Love's Unkind' (the last single from 'I Remember Yesterday) bout love triangles and school crushes (allegedly) Well I can say, hand on heart, my schoolboy crush was on Sue (as you all well know) so this a joy to watch, as the girls strut around a Tetris based set (7 years before Alexey Pajitnov releases the game in 84 - see I have facts as well as lovely videos). Wonder if Alexey Pajitnov saw this routine on TOTP (probably not). The girls look like sweet 'candy's' (eye candy) in outfits ala homage to Bertie Bassetts Liquorice Allsorts perhaps (probably not). Still it's a wonderful 'sweet', full of 'sugary delights' (enough of the candy references) I wonder if you spot the Patti fluff (hint - bout 1:25 into the song) and the Lulu fluff (about 5 seconds in - thanks Ryan) - I know picking it apart - but it takes allsorts (groan) Another P4PM classic found in my inbox. many thanks and my debt to you is enormous. Again colour corrected and given a loving tweak. Unknown source showing in High Quality MPEG2
