In this video, we will demonstrate how to enable the rear brake replacement service mode in the 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 Volvo XC40 models with EPB (electric parking brake) without using an OBD2 scanner / diagnostic scan tool. During service mode, the electric parking brake motor will unwind completely, allowing you to compress the caliper piston and replace the rear brake pads and/or rotors. This procedure will also work on other Volvo models: XC60, XC90, S60, S90, V60, V90, EX30, EX40, EC40, EX90. Before starting the EPB service mode procedure, ensure that the parking brake is disengaged (off).
