The Mark VI patrol boat is a class of patrol boats in service with the United States Navy, designed to patrol riverine and littoral waters. Built by Safe Boats International, the Mark VI is significantly larger than previous classes of Navy patrol boats. It measures 85 feet (26 m) in length and can reach speeds of more than 30 knots (56 km/h; 35 mph). It is designed to transport and deploy combat units in littoral areas and support military operations in such environments. The Mark VI patrol boat is equipped with advanced weapons systems and a variety of technologies to enhance its survivability and operational effectiveness. It's armed with two 25 mm Mk 38 Mod 2 gun weapon systems, multiple crew-served weapons mounts, and even provisions for carrying and launching tactical unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The boat is heavily armored to protect its crew from small arms fire and it's also equipped with ballistic protection systems and shock-absorbing seats to safeguard the crew from impacts or collisions. In addition, it has the ability to carry and deploy up to eight Special Operations Forces personnel with their gear.
