Apathy to Advocacy: Embracing a World of Equity and Inclusion | Jeremy May | TEDxLewisUniversity

This TEDx talk will highlight the story of a professional as he was challenged to confront his own biases and embrace a world of equity and inclusion. Jeremy will walk you through his experiences and share with you tools and resources that helped him move out of a state of apathy into a role of advocacy. Jeremy May is an ICF certified coach and a Leadership and Professional Development Learning Facilitator. He currently co-chairs a Regional Business Resource Group focused on Hispanics Organizing Hope and Engagement. His personal purpose statement is to help others realize and achieve goals that provide meaning in their lives. This purpose statement has led him to lean into uncomfortable conversations and strive to create an environment where others feel a sense of belonging. Jeremy has worked with countless leaders to help them identify unconscious bias and develop action plans that create equitable environments. His work related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion moves beyond the professional world as he works to instill values of equity into his two children and call his friends and family into conversations that drive change.
