At elevations ranging from 2,800 to over 5,000 feet, the terrain shifts from lush, shaded forest to exposed alpine meadows dotted with wildflowers in summer. The area is known for its quiet atmosphere, low foot traffic, and abundance of wildlife, making it a perfect spot for capturing the sounds and solitude of a true Pacific Northwest forest. In July 2024, filmmaker Roman Khomlyak recorded the quiet summer forest near Renton, Washington, using a Blackmagic Design Ursa Mini Pro 4.6K G2 camera. He shot the video with Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 35mm T2.4 1.5X S35 anamorphic lenses (Silver Flare) using both Arri PL and Canon EF mounts. These lenses created a wide, cinematic image that clearly shows the forest’s details and calm mood, helping viewers feel like they’re actually there.
