Whoo! My mind was utterly boggled by the Anonymous Tarot of Paris when I first encountered it. Luckily, I'm a huge dork and have spent the last few months studying the context in which it was created. It makes so much more sense now and I have a profound appreciation for it. My understanding of Tarot massively expanded in this process! I hope you get some insights too! CORRECTION: I realized that if the earlier date for the woodblock art is correct, Tycho Brahe would have been only a kid. But the longer-bearded version here looks a lot like depictions of either Ptolemy (an Egyptian-born ancient Greek, but pictured in Renaissance art in clothes contemporary to the time), or Nostradamus (alive at the earlier estimated time and possibly on the chariot card in the Catelin-Geoffroy deck).
