Dear friends, Please feel free to sing this prayer together at your Feasts, devotions, etc. Here are the lyrics: (Three 6/8 measures of intro.) Make firm my steps, O Lord of all beings! Make firm my steps in Thy Most Great Covenant!__ Strengthen my loins in Thy firm Testament by Thy bounty and Thy promised grace. Cause me to seek Thee and flee_ unto Thy_ face.___ Hold Thou my hand with the hand of Thy pow’r. Cleanse me of what Thou abhorest. None can withstand the operation of Thy decree; Thou art, in truth, the Almighty!___ Help me to put my whole trust in Thee. Make firm my steps and hold Thou my hand.___ (Three 6/8 measures instrumental) Make firm my steps, O Lord of all beings! None can withstand the operation of Thy decree; Thou art, in truth, the Almighty!__ Help me to put my whole trust in Thee. Thou art in truth the Most Bountiful.__ Music by Zak Mortensen, lyrics inspired by the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, reference: “Bahá’í Prayers” (2002), p. 181, “Prayers and Meditations by Bahá’u’lláh, p. 255 © 2011, from our fourth collection, “Raise Your Voices." Zak also composed and performed the accompaniment. Sing along with Ron Lyles and me! I will endeavor to post one new setting of Bahá'í scripture each week (the last was “Consecration,” although we also put up "Ayyám-i-Há Prayer" because it's that time of year!). These songs have been tried in our local community and proven to be both easy for groups to sing and meaningful. Our project was initiated in 2005. I will always be grateful to Zak for his talent and abilities in musical composition and arranging. The photo is of a Bahá’í devotional gathering in London, U.K. Look for our next song, “Day by Day.” If you have any questions, please feel free to put them in the comments, and I'll do my best to answer. If you subscribe to my channel, you can be notified of future postings. For more information about the Bahá'í Faith, you can check out bahai.org.
