#IndiaAtUN Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, Permanent Representative, delivered India’s statement at the quarterly UNSC meeting on Afghanistan. PR highlighted: ➡️ As contiguous neighbors, India and Afghanistan share a special people to people relationship. ➡️ India’s broad approach remains to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan and create an international consensus under the United Nations framework. ➡️ India’s participation in UN meetings in Doha, Moscow Format and other fora are a reflection of our efforts to secure peace, stability and development in Afghanistan. ➡️ In meeting of India’s Foreign Secretary and Acting FM of Afghanistan, Afghan side thanked Indian leadership for continuing to engage and support people of Afghanistan. ➡️ Development partnership includes over 500 projects spread across all provinces in Afghanistan. ➡️ India delivered - 27 tons relief material, 50K MT wheat, 40K litres pesticides, more than 300 tons of medical supplies to the Afghan people. ➡️ India partnered with UNODC to provide assistance for welfare of Afghan drug user population, especially women. Since 2022, have supplied 11,000 units of hygiene kits, baby food, clothing, medical aid and more than 30 tons of social support items to UNODC in Kabul.
