Long GOP and All-Intra are two video compression methods used to reduce the size of video files. Long GOP stands for 'Long Group of Pictures', which records a key frame containing a full picture, followed by a group of 'P' frames and 'B' frames. 'P' frames contain 'motion compensated' difference information compared to previous frames, while 'B' frames contain predictive difference information based on previous frames. As far as playback and editing are concerned, the GOP (group of pictures) is treated and processed as a group, not individual frames. This method produces smaller video file sizes but may result in lower quality videos, especially when filming fast, complex movements or when extracting a single high-quality still frame from the sequence¹³. All-Intra compression, on the other hand, compresses each frame individually. This method produces larger video file sizes but potentially better quality videos that respond better to editing and single-frame export¹²³. I hope that helps!
