Caerlaverock Castle - Dumfries - Scotland | 4K | DJI Mini3 Pro

Caerlaverock Castle is one of the most remarkable and well-preserved medieval castles in Scotland. It is located near the town of Dumfries, on the southern coast of Scotland, overlooking the Solway Firth. The castle has a unique triangular shape, with a moat, a twin-towered gatehouse and massive battlements. It was built in the 13th century by the Maxwell family, who were powerful lords in the region. The castle witnessed several sieges and battles during the wars between Scotland and England, and was eventually abandoned in the 17th century after being partly destroyed by cannon fire. Today, the castle is a popular tourist attraction and a historical monument, managed by Historic Environment Scotland. It also hosts events such as jousting tournaments and medieval fairs. Unfortunately, as you can see, the castle is currently under renovation and the interior is closed for visitors. You can walk around the grounds though.
