Touch Base: How I Broke Business Applications Deployment - Regina Voloshin, Bank Hapoalim The infrastructure (management and monitoring tools along with cluster configuration) desired state of multiple OpenShift clusters in Bank Hapoalim is managed with Gitops and ArgoCD. A human mistake in our ArgoCD Kustomize configuration caused a failure in deploying business applications. In this session I will cover some of the pitfalls and common practices using Kustomize. I will also describe in details the lessons learnt from this incident and their implementation: How we handled the challenge of understanding the effect of a change in Kustomize base/overlay on the overall configuration. The merge request pipeline with validations and approval mechanism we have built to avoid such mistakes in the future. How we protect the monorepo, which effects multiple clusters, from "bad" changes.
