We've been making these videos for nearly 3 years with the same testing setup featuring an Orange Crush 50 BXT amp and Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 audio interface. We've made some great content with this setup, but there have been some persisting little bugs in my setup that I've been meaning to address. The biggest 'bug' I wanted to fix was the onboard compression on the amp to get a cleaner more natural sound out of the basses with a fuller low end. Enter the Ampeg RB-110 from their new rocket series. Similar simplicity to the Orange Crush, but without the added compression squishing the sound. Paired to our new audio interface, the Universal Audio Volt 276, we have a recipe for some excellent bass tones on a budget! Plus, I now have the opportunity to revisit basses that we've previously reviewed with a fresh light and perspective. Let's do this!
