In the nearly dead forest, dense oak trees block out sunlight and drain all the water from the ground. There’s no light, no water, and almost no wildlife. Even vultures, keystone species and vital scavengers, have disappeared. In our 32nd mission, we’re doing something completely different to help nature recover: we’re cutting trees. Forget what you knew about forest restoration or river restoration, this is nature recovery turned upside down.
