The activists from Ocean Conservation Namibia (www.ocnamibia.org) spotted 2 different Cape Fur Seals in distress sitting near each other on the beach. They planned that Naude and Denzil would run after the smaller one and catch him by hand, while Antoine would run after the slightly bigger one with the net. Contrary to what usually happens - all went according to plan:) Naude managed to secure the young female by hand and him and Denzil went to work removing some thin braided fishing line that had caused a very back cut all along the small pups back. They successfully cut her free and let her go. While they were busy, Antoine had caught the second, slightly bigger male pup in the net. This one was stuck in a large ball of thick commercial fishing line, and was also successfully cut free by Antoine.
