In this video, we ride from Marsabit to Moyale, Kenya — a long but unforgettable stretch of highway through the northern frontier. After fueling up with a hearty buffet breakfast included with our room, we set off under a sky that hinted at adventure. The recent rains had completely transformed the landscape — where once there was dust and rock, now vibrant greens stretched to the horizon, bringing the desert alive. Along the way, we made a dusty fuel stop at a small village, where curious kids and herders gathered around our bikes, fascinated by our journey. As we pushed further north, the wildlife came alive around us. Giraffes strode gracefully across the open plains, gazelles darted through the grass like flickers of light, and camels ambled lazily near the road, eyeing us with mild curiosity. It felt like riding through the pages of a storybook. By late afternoon, we rolled into the familiar, sunbaked town of Moyale. After some much-needed motorbike maintenance, we set about preparing for the border crossing into Ethiopia — but things didn’t go as planned. We managed to check out of Kenya, but when entry into Ethiopia was denied, we suddenly found ourselves in a tricky spot: officially illegal in Kenya, with no way forward. Our only choice was to sneak back across the border under the cover of dusk to our hotel, narrowly avoiding a night spent camping in no-man’s land.
