St. Joseph's Hand and Upper Limb Centre (HULC) has a new name in honour of founders the late Drs. James Roth and Robert McFarlane. In a special dedication ceremony that took place taking place on September 27, the centre was officially renamed the Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre. "The expertise, foresight, leadership and hard work of Drs. Roth and McFarlane were the building blocks of the centre, which opened in 1992 and quickly became recognized internationally as a leader in upper limb surgical innovation, exceptional patient care, and teaching excellence," says Dr. Gillian Kernaghan, president and CEO of St. Joseph's. "It is most fitting for us to honour them with this dedication." "The centre's staff and physicians work every day to ensure the legacy of Drs. Roth and McFarlane lives on," says medical director Dr. Graham King. "The renaming is a well-deserved tribute to two exceptional physicians whose brilliance, leadership and mentorship gave us a remarkable centre of excellence that continues to thrive."
