To make this mission easier on you, if you're playing solo, prepare for the boss fight by placing your ladders and/or ramps to the top of the rock ridge before you activate the downed pod. Then head directly back to D7 and fight the scorpion boss, and grab the Empty Enzyme Containment Unit. Then you'll add more enzymes to the pod at E5 before heading out to G4 to grab the Power Source.
