How often should I pump at work? | Expert Tips from San Diego Lactation Consultants Welcome to DIY Breastfeeding, created by Robin Kaplan, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and owner of the San Diego Breastfeeding Center. In this video, we explore the frequency of pumping breast milk at work and how it varies based on your baby's age and the length of your workday. For infants under ten to eleven months, you'll generally need to pump every two and a half to three hours, as they rely heavily on breast milk for their nutrition. As your baby grows older and starts consuming more solid foods, the frequency of pumping can decrease to about every four hours, reflecting their reduced dependence on breast milk. We provide practical advice to help you manage your pumping schedule effectively and maintain a good milk supply.
