I finish my trek through the rugged beauty of Durmitor National Park, then take a break at a local guesthouse to wait out a storm. A couple of days of rest turn into nights of laughter and maybe a little too much rakija with my welcoming hosts. When the weather clears, I hit the trail again, walking through Montenegro’s quiet hills and ending the day camping beside a peaceful lake under the stars.
