He believes each patient is unique and the decision should be made based on measurements, the patient's desire, and the plastic surgeon's skill. The primary measurement to determine implant size and the type of procedure is to measure from the inframammory fold (the bottom of the breast) to the tip of the nipple. Today I'm going to discuss what breast implant size is right for me. The answer is, of course, it depends on who you are. Sometimes tall girls would like small breast implants, sometimes short girls would like large breast implants and it has to do with a lot of variables. The first, and most important variable in choosing breast size, is the distance from the bottom of your breast, known as the inframammory fold, and the top of your nipple. So the distance between the bottom of your breast and the top of your nipple, if you've got a flexible ruler that measures centimeters, measure from the bottom of your breast to the top of your nipple and if it's seven-and-a-half centimeters or more, you'll have absolutely no problem putting in just about anything. On the other hand, if it's less than seven-and-a-half centimeters, then it becomes kind of interesting. It depends on the skill of your surgeon, it depends on the size you want. So it's very hard to make a determination in a short time like this without being able to see the person, measure. The implant manufacturers are very clear about what they think is appropriate. Unfortunately, I disagree with them in general, because I think that people who want larger implants, if they can fit in and look good, should get them. On the other hand, small implants are quite easy to do. So one way or the other, the size of the implant is determined by measurements, by your own desires, and by your plastic surgeon's ability to give you the size you're interested in.
