NEA Research Awards: New for FY27

This video provides an overview of changes to the Research Awards program for FY2027 awards, including updates to the Research Grants in the Arts Program and the NEA Research Labs program, updates to funding priorities, updates to the application, and new applicant resources. Research Grants in the Arts support discrete research studies that investigate the value and/or impact of the arts in American life. NEA Research Labs fund long-term research agendas that include multiple empirical studies and the dissemination of various products or services for promoting public knowledge about the arts and their contributions to American life. Each Lab must include an interdisciplinary team of researchers and an arts partner. These videos are intended as a supplement to the Research Awards Program Guidelines and Instructions documents.
